Natural Family Planning

PERIMON is a software for displaying and analysing of the female cycle as well as for natural family planning. It has been developed in 1995 in collaboration with a gynaecologist and was refined during five years of practical tests before being released in 2001 (version info). Since 1995 it works reliable for an increasing number of content users.

PERIMON has been created as an open system in which the user can choose which signs of the body she uses for natural family planning. The more signs will be watched the more days can clearly be determined as infertile and the more the contraception safety will improve. The more precise women knows her body, the less effort has to be made.

Without additional observations PERIMON works with a sophisticated derivative of the rhythm method. Testers have contracepted with this rhythm method of PERIMON successfully for years. After finishing the testing phase and in comparision to the Standard Days Method™ we estimate the Pearl index (contraception safety) of the pure rhythm method to ca. 3.8 (according to our data it even seems to be better). Clinical studies do not exist till now.

PERIMON calculates your cycle individually and currently by means of the rhythm of your periods; but you can neither enter your mucus or temperature data. Many women do not consider this a disadvantage however, as they do not want to measure these every morning or they use PERIMON in addition to their temperature curves (for example in case they forget to take measurements). If a condom does then rip at any point, PERIMON makes it easier to decide whether the morning-after pill should be taken or not.

Disadvantages of PERIMON:

without additional determination of the ovulation, max. 10.5 days are designated as infertile*
Only useful as an additional form of contraception or as an overview of periods, as ulterior means of contraception need to be taken on the remaining days
people who find a contraception safety of 3.8 Pearl index not sufficient should additionally observe their mucus or cervical texture
first forecasts after 3-8 entered cycles
If the periods are very irregular practically no infertile+ phase will be shown
